This will be Trinket and Reuben's first litter together! We anticipate that
their puppies will mature to be in the estimated range of 12 to 16 lbs.
ALL PUPPIES WILL BE "PARTI" (WHITE WITH PATCHES) *OR* "ABSTRACT" (MOSTLY SOLID WITH WHITE ACCENTS)
And the following colours are possible:
Ruby (medium or dark / Yellow/Red) ~ Chocolate (brown) ~ Black ~ Phantom (Brown or Black with Tan eyebrows, cheeks, legs, etc. / Black with Tan or Brown with Tan) ~ Brown or Black based Sable (black or brown with tan mixed throughout fur)

Trinket and Reuben's upcoming litter is definitely for those who love the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, but want a puppy that is low shedding! Their pairing together is purpose-bred for the improved health of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a splash of Springer Spaniel to add genetic diversity and health as well as combining multiple generations of health screened lines. We are keeping a puppy from this pairing as this litter is considered highly valuable to our lines and the future of the Cavapoo and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

2 week old puppy update:
Trinket and Reuben's puppies are now 2 weeks old and they are getting used to items (toys) that are brightly coloured which also serves to introduce them to different textures and shapes during a time when they are transitioning from non-visual to being able to see their world. A puppy's ears are also closed until the 2-week mark and we will begin to introduce them to various sounds that are normal to a household, as well as the "unusual" sounds that puppies should be desensitized to like sirens, thunderstorms, fireworks, and much more!
This is a huge milestone week for the puppies as they gain their sight and hearing! Right now, two puppies have their eyes open, and the other two will have theirs open within the next 24 hours as they are just peeking at the corners!
The puppies are a snuggly and huggable group of four, as you will see in their individual photos further down in the update snuggling with the teddy bear on the photo set!
Prior to their photos, the puppies were wiped down with puppy wipes and had their nails trimmed as a part of their introduction to their overall grooming care which are skills that they will need later in life. As the puppies mature and more grooming is needed, we will add that to their grooming routine.
We also dewormed the puppies as a start to our strict deworming protocol for their health and well-being. Our puppies are dewormed at 2, 4, and 6 weeks of age (and 8 weeks at the vet). Their 2-week weights are below their individual photos, and you will also be able to see that we have given the puppies personal identification names that we will use when referring to a particular puppy:

Over the next week we will be giving the puppies the opportunity to try some goats milk as we start to simply offer alternative food in preparation for eventual weaning of the puppies when we introduce a slurry of goats milk and meat around 3-4 weeks of age depending on Trinket's needs as a nursing mom. Our puppies are not completely weaned until 5-6 weeks of age and it is only a stop to the puppies nursing and not a removal of their mom like some breeders do in the weaning process. Our moms wear a onesie suit which allows the puppies to still interact with their mom to learn important social skills, while gradually reducing the nursing time as new food is introduced in a stress-free manner.
This week we are giving the link to the Taking Home Puppy Online Instructional to help prepare you for adding a puppy to your home and providing care and training tips for the 1st year of your puppy's life. We ask that all families on the list take advantage of the information on the Instructional, as it is there for your own benefit and it has proven to be a huge help to families who take the time to read it and explore the resources on the page.
We will begin e-mailing families on Trinket and Reuben's list soon to schedule puppy viewings either in-person or via Skype video call for the 5-week mark! You will be able to decide if you want to visit in-person or see the puppies via video call.

Birth Announcement:
Trinket has given birth to a beautiful litter of FOUR puppies! There are 3 GIRLS and 1 BOY in a rainbow of colours! Trinket did an amazing job birthing the puppies between 3:21 AM and 5:43 AM on January 6th!
The puppies are all robust and thriving -- they already don't look like they possibly fit inside Trinket with how well fed they are and how quickly puppies grow!
Below you can see the puppies colours and markings in the photos where they are facing the camera in a row. This is also their birth order!
From LEFT TO RIGHT they are:
- Chocolate Abstract GIRL
- Tri-Sable GIRL
- Black or Black-based Sable Abstract BOY (some light tan markings visible)
- Strawberry Blonde GIRL
And here are the puppies individual views of their underbellies to show their white markings (puppies are shown in the same order as above).
We were able to get more specific photos to show the markings of Trinket's puppies, especially referring to their underbelly photos, which are notoriously harder to get because puppies don't typically like to settle on their backs so soon in life -- but Trinket's puppies were at ease!
The puppies in Trinket's first litter were the easiest to photograph, and this litter is already shaping up to be the same!
Trinket is a happy and devoted mom who takes on the role of motherhood with her whole heart! She loves all her puppies deeply and she seems to have a sense of pride in her babies and a job well done!
It's clear to see how adorably proud Trinket is of her puppies:
We are still planning to keep a female puppy from this litter, although we do not know which puppy we will keep at this time. We want to watch the puppies grow, and each of the females are equal at this point.
