This will be Adley and Leo's first litter together, but we have examples of similar puppies from Adley's mom, Vera, from her Spring 2024 litter with Leo! We anticipate that Adley and Leo's puppies will mature to be in the estimated range of 15 to 18 lbs.
ALL PUPPIES WILL BE "SOLID" (NO WHITE) *OR* "ABSTRACT" (MOSTLY SOLID WITH WHITE ACCENTS)

Three Boys & Three Girls
2 week old puppy update:
Adley's puppies are now 2 weeks old and they are doing amazing under Adley's very attentive care! For a first-time-mom -- this girl is incredible! Just look at the size (normal/healthy puppy pudge) of those beautiful puppies!
Adley's puppies are very strong and while they are capable of moving around the whelping box using their legs -- Adley keeps them very well fed and so they are definitely on the pudgy side and this will keep them crawling for a while yet as they tire quicker with the added weight! This is a good thing, as extra padding is always welcome in the coming weeks when we reach the weaning stage.
This litter is very quiet and relaxed, even when Adley is out of the whelping box for a break! Puppies will often let out little "chirps" signaling for their mom to return because the puppies need her, but Adley's puppies are so content that they often sleep for a couple hours without making a peep, allowing Adley to get a much needed break!
As you will be able to note in the photos below in this update, one puppy has his eyes fully open, and his siblings are close behind even though their eyes look mostly closed -- they are peeking in the corners and the other puppies will open their eyes within the next day or so!
Now that their eyes are opening, we will be able to introduce them to visual stimulation, like but not limited to:
-brightly coloured or patterned blankets
-toys of various shapes, sizes, textures, and colours
-other stimuli/objects from day-to-day life
A little known fact is that puppies are also without hearing until the 2-week mark, and this allows us to expose the puppies to auditory stimulation through various sounds like but not limited to:
-thunder sound effects
-construction and traffic noises
-horns, whistles, and alarms
-vacuuming, pots and pans clanging
-doors and drawers opening and closing
-TV, radio, and various music
This is a huge transition period for the puppies, but we anticipate Adley's puppies taking it all in stride!

Adley's puppies experienced a mini grooming session that will become a normal routine for them over the coming weeks as an important life skill for the future! We trimmed the puppies nails, and gave them a wipe down with puppy wipes. We will be able to expand on their grooming to include more things as the weeks progress.
We also deworm our puppies at 2, 4, and 6 weeks of age (8-week deworming is done by our vet), and so the puppies will receive their first deworming tomorrow on Saturday as a part of our strict deworming protocol.
For those on Adley's list -- you should have received via e-mail a group e-mail containing various tips, tricks, recommendations, and training and care resources. If you did not see this e-mail, please check your spam/junk folder.
We will be starting to e-mail families at the beginning of the upcoming week to schedule puppy-choosing for the 5-6 week of age mark, starting at the top of the list and working our way down.

Birth Announcement:
Adley has given birth to SIX ravishing red puppies -- there are THREE BOYS and THREE GIRLS and Adley had an incredibly fast and easy delivery for a first-time mom! All of her puppies were born between 4:24 PM and 5:54 PM on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024.
Adley is proving to be an excellent mother, caring for her puppies in the same way her mother cared for her and her siblings. Good mothering instincts are definitely passed down, and we are thrilled to see this in Adley!
All of the puppies are very strong and they are nursing vigorously! With the easy birthing, the puppies came out eager to nurse and they are very robust for newborn puppies!

We will highlight the puppies individually in future updates, but in the photos shown below where the puppies faces are facing the camera -- the THREE GIRLS are on the LEFT and the THREE BOYS are on the RIGHT:
A few of the puppies have white markings on their chests and toes, and the others are solid red. As the puppies mature we will be able to show their markings more in the coming weeks!
We will have more updates to follow as the puppies grow and change over the next 8 weeks, but we will sign off the Birth Announcement with two final photos of Adley resting contently with her puppies!
